Putting a face to a coffee brand

Mr Eion has been roasting speciality coffee since 2013 and is a much-loved name in Edinburgh’s coffee scene. Five years, and many flat whites later, it was time for a new brand identity that better reflects their community spirit and commitment to getting their beans from farm to cup in a sustainable way. Following a brand workshop with Mr Eion, we helped them to articulate their brand positioning and created a fresh visual identity, including the design of a new logo, shop exterior, and packaging.

To bring Eion’s character into the new identity, we worked with artist Giulia Giovannini to create an illustration for the logo marque. The brand colour palette reflects the origin of the coffee, with hues inspired by the landscapes of the regions where the beans are grown.
