Helping a relationship charity get its spark back
Scottish Marriage Care needed to reposition its brand as a charity offering support to individuals, couples, and families – whatever the relationship, wherever they are in Scotland. This called for a new identity that would attract a wider cross-section of people to use their services.
Reflecting diversity in Scotland
Bespoke photography of people in Scotland was commissioned to reflect the charity's diverse audience. By pairing and alternating their faces on the website, we show that The Spark's services are for all types of relationships. The audience are left to interpret whether the people are family members, friends or partners.

Unique visits to The Spark’s website increased by 76% in the first month following the rebrand. And within the first 4 months there were 18% more requests for counselling and the percentage of unmarried couples using The Spark's services increased from 9% to 22%. The effectiveness of the charity's new identity won the client a commendation at the Third Sector Awards.
